Innercityscapes

InnercityScapes is a live cinema piece which explores the friction arising between modern day inner city life and the subconscious experience of our surroundings. The walls between the computational structures that increasingly define our architectural environment and the suppressed archetypical experience of reality that linger deep within the psyche, are diminished, to reveal looming threats to the individual self and the collective consciousness. These threatening forces perfectly hide behind the algorithmic dissection of our reality, yet increasingly transform our natural surroundings.

The first iteration has been performed at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in 2010, the Key of Life Festival in Leiden in 2010 and at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, 2010.

New iterations have been performed at Spektrum in Berlin in 2017, at The Grey Space in the Middel in The Hague as part of the exhibition 'Locating ArtScience' during TodaysArt 2017, and at Villa K in The Hague in 2018.
